Experience Summary After completing my studies and articles at PKF Durban, I took the decision to experience life a little and headed to London. It was there that I joined the FMCG giant Unilever in their global head office as reporting manager responsible for the North American region.
In this role, I got my first exposure to the ideal of building leadership from within. Working with a multitude of nationalities and cultures was inspiring for me and it was this exposure that piqued my curiosity in people. I was asked to join a team that developed and rolled out their mentor/mentee leadership programme.
Returning to SA five years later, I joined the Unilever SA business as Finance Manager for the Homecare category, which encompassed delivery of finance capability across marketing, supply chain, and customer teams. During this time, I received the Unilever Chairman’s Award for Finance Excellence. I was then asked to head up a project task team that developed the Integrated Business Planning Process, and re-engineered the company’s Trade Term Policy. I was then appointed Finance Director for Market Development Africa. Most recently, I was Finance Director at a small but fast growing digital marketing agency based in Durban. Joining PsyGro has allowed me to fuel my passion for people development and follow my purpose
What kind of leader am I? A strategic thinker, collaborative, encouraging, and empathetic. I am a strong communicator. Loves to… Family is a huge part of life and we spend a lot of time together. I play my guitar a bit, drink red wine, and enjoy good food. Fitness and health is a big part of my day to day. I am a firm believer in a healthy body, healthy mind.
